There are so many creative things that go beyond just putting money under a pillow that can create wonderful memories that will last your child a lifetime. Keep reading for some ways to make your child’s visit from the Tooth Fairy a lot more exciting from Dr. Austin Westover and Dr. Bryant Ash at Westover Family Dentistry.

All That Glitters…

What could be more exciting than sparkles? Not much, that’s for sure. Glitter is a fairy staple, and there are a few things the tooth fairy could use this shiny craft supply for.

  • Fairy Dust: Scatter some glitter outside your door in the yard or in front of your child’s door to let the tooth fairy know where to stop overnight
  • Glittery Money: Grab a cardboard box and your glitter – we’re making sparkly money. Using spray glue and loose glitter, or spray-on hair glitter, you can spruce up the money the tooth fairy leaves in exchange for your little one’s tooth. What could be better than bona fide fairy cash?
  • Glitter in a Glass: For a cleaner and more contained glitter experience, have your child pick a glass before bed. Fill it with water and place the tooth in, then the next morning when they wake to find the tooth gone, the tooth fairy will have turned boring clear water into a magical fairy footprint (food coloring and glitter get this job done!)

Your Best Friend the Fairy…

A simple way to make the Tooth Fairy seem a little more believable is with a note. If you want to go the extra mile, you can buy or print out fairy-themed stationery here or sprinkle some “fairy dust” on the card. There are countless templates online to make your note a genuine tooth fairy communication!

Tooth Receipt…

For the young businessperson or the child wary of giving up their tooth, try leaving a tooth receipt. These adorable templates give the attached kid something to hold onto and are a super fun way to commemorate the tooth exchange. Here are some of our favorite templates; From the Office of the Tooth Fairy and The Tooth Fairy Kit

Keepsakes…

Who leaves their tooth under their pillow anyway? Eliminate the risk of having to reach under your child’s pillow and wake them up – instead either buy or craft a Tooth Fairy pillow. These pillows have an adorable tooth-shaped pocket where your child can leave their tooth for the Tooth Fairy to pick up!

Or if sewing isn’t your thing, a tooth box is an easy alternative. Here are some cute tooth box ideas that accomplish the same goal!

With these simple upgrades, you can take your Tooth Fairy from good to great! These little additions will make the Tooth Fairy experiences a blast for the entire family.
